My dream DVD collection is now one step closer to completion-- the first season of The Adventures of Pete and Pete is now officially out on DVD-- and much better quality than the bootlegs I had previously bought on Ebay--with one exception: the episode "Day of the Dot" has a glitchy line going across the screen in a few scenes--apparently due to improper storage of the original tapes.
--Matador records has some pretty good bands (check out Interpol, Pavement, Stephen Malkmus...)--my personal favorite, however, are The New Pornographers. They currently have 3 MP3s for download. The director for "The Laws Have Changed" video is apparently a fan of Luis Buñuel--the premise of the video is straight out of Simón del desierto. [[edit: director is also TNP's keyboardist, Blaine Thurier]]
I was checking my email today and noticed that the Gmail "web clip" bar displays links to Spam recipes when checking the spam folder and recycling tips when checking the trash folder. Here are some screenshots--click to embiggen (what?? it's a perfectly cromulent word). If you use Firefox, you can click with your scroll wheel to open in a new tab. Gmail storage is currently up to 2356 MB (and counting).
