The Adventures of Pete and Pete--On DVD!!!

My dream DVD collection is now one step closer to completion-- the first season of The Adventures of Pete and Pete is now officially out on DVD-- and much better quality than the bootlegs I had previously bought on Ebay--with one exception: the episode "Day of the Dot" has a glitchy line going across the screen in a few scenes--apparently due to improper storage of the original tapes.
Also out on DVD--Season 1 of Clarissa Explains it All. If you were a fan of either show, definitely get the DVDs--hopefully Nickelodeon will get the hint and release the other seasons of the shows.

I'm still hoping MTV's The State will be coming to DVD sometime this millennium.

More free & legal MP3s

--Matador records has some pretty good bands (check out Interpol, Pavement, Stephen Malkmus...)--my personal favorite, however, are The New Pornographers. They currently have 3 MP3s for download. The director for "The Laws Have Changed" video is apparently a fan of Luis Buñuel--the premise of the video is straight out of Simón del desierto. [[edit: director is also TNP's keyboardist, Blaine Thurier]]

--Sub Pop records has plenty of good bands as well (Hot Hot Heat, Postal Service, Sleater-Kinney...) --including The Shins. I recently purchased Oh, Inverted World and was not disappointed--"Girl on the Wing" is my new favorite song--unfortunately not available for download on the website, but they do have "Know Your Onion!" from that album, as well as "So Says I" from the Chutes Too Narrow

More on Gmail's RSS Feed

I was checking my email today and noticed that the Gmail "web clip" bar displays links to Spam recipes when checking the spam folder and recycling tips when checking the trash folder. Here are some screenshots--click to embiggen (what?? it's a perfectly cromulent word). If you use Firefox, you can click with your scroll wheel to open in a new tab. Gmail storage is currently up to 2356 MB (and counting).
